Katie Haws

It was a joy when Katie Haws brought her experience and positive energy to the GHY platform from Milwaukee, WI. As an earth loving mama, it has been important to Katie to raise her son with the same childhood experiences that she had, specifically enjoying the outdoors year round and allowing nature to be her playground! Through her series, Katie raised over $500 towards helping Urban Ecology Center connect kids with the outdoors in her hometown of Milwaukee.

Katie is an RYT 500 hour Yoga Instructor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Through mindful and creative sequencing, she weaves together accessible yoga classes that allows her students the space to safely explore their practice deeper.

Katie remains a student at heart, and loves to challenge herself through inversions and fast paced power flows.

When Katie is not teaching Yoga or leading Yoga Teacher Trainings, you can find her exploring the outdoors (camping and hiking) with her 4 year old son and their pup G, chasing live music across the country, creating one of a kind macrame art, and relaxing at home with a honey oat latte, and all things BravoTV!

Growing up Katie was outside all year round and nature was one of her biggest playgrounds. As a Mother, it is so important to her that her son has a strong connection to nature based play and enjoys being outdoors over indoor play and screen time which is why she chose to support Urban Ecology Center.

The Urban Ecology Center’s mission is to build community and connection through nature in neighborhoods.They offer a wide range of workshops and classes for all ages, and teaches the communities around us how to respect Mother Earth and the impact that we all can have!
