Allie Greene

Bellevue, Pennsylvania

We were honored when Allie Greene brought her somatic movement expertise and huge heart to the GHY platform to teach a virtual series in support of Cancer Bridges, an amazing nonprofit that provides support to those affected by cancer. Through her FaceBook fundraiser, Allie raised over $700 directly for Cancer Bridges to help them provide programming so that those affected by cancer can receive the social, emotional, and informational tools they need to cope.

Allie has always been fascinated by the body as a profound source of knowledge. The relationship with the body is where a sense of self begins; it shapes identity, influences perceptions, and impacts interactions with the world. From a young age, she recognized the body’s potential to communicate and transform, a realization that has guided her journey through various stages of life.

Since her first creative movement class at the age of four, through a professional dance career, work in behavioral health, and now in her MSW program, her lifelong journey has consistently centered around the transformative power of movement. To her, the body is not just a vessel; it is a dynamic, expressive entity that holds emotions, memories, and aspirations. Understanding and connecting with the body enables people to navigate life’s challenges and celebrate its joys with resilience and grace.

With over 20 years of experience teaching dance, Pilates, yoga, somatic education, and therapeutic movement in diverse settings, she is dedicated to creating spaces that foster support and nurturance. These environments allow individuals to deeply explore and empower their connection with their body, mind, and spirit. Her goal is to facilitate transformative, holistic movement experiences, always through a trauma-informed lens, to support others on their journey toward personal growth and well-being.

Allie is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist (RSME/T) through the International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association (ISMETA). She is also a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with EmbodiYoga & Somatics and a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). Allie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Performing Arts, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) with a trauma-informed curriculum at Carlow University.
